Visit to Dancing Rabbit
Visit to Sandhill Farm
Six LSN members greatly enjoyed time together touring two Missouri intentional communities called Dancing Rabbit Eco-Village and Sandhill Farm the weekend of August 11-13, 2006. We certainly came away with greater understanding of how to live more sustainably.

Bob Anderson's photovoltaic panel building workshop
Bob Anderson decided more than 20 years ago that he wanted to learn to build a photovoltaic panel inexpensively and set about taking one apart to teach himself. He's been teaching what he's learned ever since. He led a workshop this summer showing nineteen of us the basics of building and installing a 60 watt, 20 volt 3 amp panel. The intent of many of those present is to build their own panels together in groups. Let us know if you have interest in learning, too. Read this article for more on Bob.

Tip
Switch to cold when doing your laundry. 85 – 90% of the energy used to wash your clothes is used to heat the water. By turning the dial to cold on your washing machine, you help the environment, save energy, and save money. |
